With decent weather and Nitu Shah & Party’s music this year’s Navratri festival was a great success. The festival took place at Kadwa Patidar Centre from the 19th to 27th September and on 3rd October (Sharad Poonam) with the advantage of two weekends.
It was very encouraging to see higher number of people turning up on week days. On the second Saturday (on aatham) there was a huge turn out with lot of people wearing traditional Indian dresses. As usual cold milk shake/ ice cream were served every day and very welcomed by paticipant during a break.
People really enjoyed the festival and most of them took part in grabas and dandia ras. As always Navratri is a very popular event with younsters who turned up in large numbers at this year’s festival. The politicians from different political parties visited the festival and took part in garbas.
The credit goes to Maganbhai Bhimani (Convenor), Babubhai Makadia and all those volunteers who helped out every day with the organisation of this festival.
