Bhumi Poojan ceremony took place on Sunday, 21 February 2010 at Kadwa Patidar Centre. Despite dreary cold and wet day over 250 community members attended the ceremony. The chief Guests were Ashokbhai Adodra, his wife Sarojben and family from Kenya. After the welcome ceremony the Bhumi Poojan took place in the small canopy erected on the building site. Ashokbhai and Sarojben took part in the religious ceremony which was watched by over 250 people via a video link in the main hall.
Bhumi Poojan ceremony was followed by brief speeches from the President, Babubhai Makadia, Rajnibhai Kansagra and Ashokbhai Adodra. Babubhai thanked Ashokbhai for his donation and said he was proud that KPS is embarking on another building project that will not only make Kadwa Patidar Centre one of the best function halls in North West London but also it will help us to develop our Samaj for the future. Rajnibhai thanked those who organised the function and reiterated that we still need donations to fully fund the project and asked members to donate generously. Ashokbhai thanked the Samaj for being a great host to him and his family and wished well with the construction of the Dining Hall.
The video of the original Bhumi Poojan, which was taken in 1992 by Jaisukh Savani, was shown on the big screen and the audience enjoyed watching it. The ceremony ended with couple of raas and a nice lunch.
